SEPTEMBER 16, 2021
In the week of 20-24 september, Roberto Pistolesi will be resident at Het Concreet. During that week, Roberto will explore the analog studio and work on new material. Saturday 25th, Roberto and Het Concreet will present their sounds at Paradox Tilburg.
Roberto Pistolesi (1978), is a drummer/performer/composer born in Italy and living in the Netherlands. After having navigated for years through many musical genres, Roberto shifted towards jazz, and he quickly became one of the most representative drummers of the new breed of Italian modern and traditional jazz. Since then, he played and recorded with a huge number of national and international artists, such as Steve Grossman, Dave Liebman, Rick Margitza, Paolo Fresu, Dario Deidda, David Binney (among others), and has been a regular band member of the world-acclaimed saxophonists Stefano Di Battista and Francesco Cafiso.
Roberto has performed all over the world, and played the drums in several TV shows. His close collaboration with pianist Roberto Tarenzi and songwriter Ivan Segreto has largely contributed to develop Roberto’s improvisational style, rooted in jazz but very flexible to any other musical suggestion. Roberto got into the Dutch scene performing with most of the top dutch jazz musicians, such as Tineke Postma, Jasper Blom, Peter Beets, Benjamin Herman, Jesse Van Ruller and Ben Van Gelder. He performed with the NDR Orchestra for a project which featured saxophonist Michael Moore.
