Visual echoes

We asked Janine Hendriks (Kaftwerk) to create a visual identity for Het Concreet: a set of artworks that reflect the nature of our studio, the vibrance of our sounds. She came equipped with charcoal, blotting paper and a free schedule. This is what she found. 

"Revox B77, Studer A80, Korg Stage Echo. Whoever enters Het Concrete sees a room full of devices. I see a lot of buttons. Push buttons, rotary knobs, sliders. Cords, stripes, lights and blue adhesive tape in different widths. It appeals to my imagination. I see rhythmic repetitions, patterns, endless possibilities.

I reduced the aesthetics of the analog equipment to its essence: a number of basic shapes, of which I then made stamps. By stamping rhythmically, in varying combinations, layer upon layer, I have created abstract versions of Het Concreet.

Copy after copy. Like a visual echo, some accelerated, some delayed."
