Mathijs Leeuwis wrote the spatial music T.I.L.B.U.R.G. for organ, electronics and ensemble VONK – commisioned by De Link and executed by Het Concreet. The première takes place in the Broekhovense Kerk, after which the piece tours Mariakerk and St. Janskerk in the municipality of Tilburg during 2022. In his role as the city composer, Leeuwis focuses on themes of transiency, attention and rituals. The church organ, by far, is the instrument connecting these themes.
