We are very excited to welcome composer Cecilia Arditto for a week-long residency in our studio. Her musical work explores the use of everyday objects and challenges our ideas of what a musical instrument is supposed to be. Can you write an overture for toasters? An oratorium for toothbrushes or a duet for crankshaft and pillow? In her project Musique Concrète she composed for tape and second-hand objects, mostly bought in the markets or rescued from the trash. During her residency, Cecilia will be our guide to tread the territory of utensils and we can’t wait to see where it will lead us.
