OCTOBER 3 2025
Wouter Jaspers is an electro-acoustic sound artist, composer, and (electronic) instrument designer known for his dark, immersive music and innovative instrument designs. Utilizing a vast archive of field recordings and (radio)noise, accumulated during his extensive touring life, Jaspers creates compelling sonic narratives. His work transcends genre boundaries, operating fluidly across diverse musical scenes, from experimental noise to structured composition and he collaborates with a multitude of artists, orchestras and ensembles like Ensemble KNM, Bendik Giske, Hainbach, Frans de Waard.
As co-founder of KOMA Elektronik, he designed the acclaimed Field Kit series, and now produces instruments under his own brand, Sonic Artefacts. He is also a collaborator at Sonoscopia in Porto, working on their experimental sound studio. His live performances, and workshops have been showcased at leading international festivals and venues worldwide, including CTM Festival, Gaudeamus Muziekweek and Mutek Montreal.
For this residency we have teamed up with the Tilburg based Murf/Murw Festival. Murf/Murw focuses completely on radical, experimental arts. We will build a temporary studio right at the festival heart in a pop-up store the city centre of Tilburg. We will host the residency with Wouter Jaspers, out in the open, for everybody to see and hear during those 3 days of Murf/Murw. Come and say hi (and look at us like we're guinea pigs).
